About This Adventure

Jump in a Polaris off-road side-by-side to discover the historic Pioneer Trail in upper Michigan that dates back to the 1930s and early 1940s. This trail was carved into the ancient mountains known locally as the Gogebic Range as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps under President Theodore Roosevelt. This historic trail is regarded as one of, if not the premier scenic trail in the Midwest thanks to dramatic elevation and terrain changes as it weaves through pristine forests and over spring-fed creeks. Today, you will have the opportunity to ride this trail in a Polaris side-by-side rental. You will experience the Pioneer Trail featuring numerous primitive mine locations to hike into and explore, early settler’s camps, dramatic waterfalls, and historic dams. The trail has incredible scenic vistas for you to take the most memorable family pictures at. Directly on the trail is a world-class underground mine tour FAMOUS in the summer for its 48 degrees escape from the temperatures. Adventure Mine Tours are an incredible trailside stop! Nestled into the timber flatlands between the 990,000-acre Ottawa National Forest and the Porcupine Mountains State Park is Hamilton's North Coast Adventure's 1,002-acre private ride park and rental facility. Once you arrive at our Guide Pros will confirm your booked rental experience and fit your group with helmets. Upon safety briefing, your Guide Pros then walk you through all the vehicle features and provide a driving demonstration with qualified drivers. North Coast Guide Pros will then walk you through the waypoints of your pre-programmed ride.

Rider Requirements

All drivers of off-road vehicles are required to be 18+ years of age with a valid driver’s license. All passengers must be able to grasp a handhold with their hands, plant feet firmly on the ground, and have their back fully against the backrest. Helmets and eye protection are always required to be worn when the vehicle is being operated.

Guests are recommended to wear closed-toe shoes, and long shirts and pants for a safe, comfortable ride.

Feel free to bring along a backpack with water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen.
