Rent a Polaris Slingshot from Outriders Northwest and take off towards the alpine lakes that are scattered across the high country of Central Oregon where striking volcanic strata and the snowcapped Cascade Range provide the perfect selfie backdrop. Guests will travel through Bend, Oregon, a high-desert city bathed in sunshine and one of the state’s most popular hubs for year-round recreation as well as shops, hotels, museums, monuments and restaurants. Continue along the drive to the nearby Cascade Lakes where glaciers and volcanoes created a diverse geographic landscape. The byway, often referred to as Century Drive due to the route previously being a 100-mile dirt road, begins on the west side of Bend and quickly climbs toward Mt. Bachelor, a 9,068 foot stratovolcano that last erupted in 6051 BC. Nestled in the Mount Bachelor Ski Resort, sightseers can park their Slingshot and take a chairlift to take in views that stretch from Washington to California. From there, venture to Deschutes National Forest, filled with pine, fir and hemlock lining the Deschutes River where outdoor enthusiasts can fish, canoe or even hike to the Benham and Dillion Waterfalls. Proceed on the route to Broken Top Mountain and take advantage of a rare opportunity to see inside the stratovolcano that last erupted about 100,000 years ago and reaches 9,177 feet in elevation. The homestretch of the trip takes guests past dozens of lakes and trail heads before winding back at the Cascade Lakes. Mountains, dormant volcanoes, lakes and forests are all included on this tour of a lifetime, grab your camera and crank some tunes in a state-of-the-art Slingshot as you embark on this breathtaking scenic tour to explore the heart of Oregon in style.Print Itinerary
