About this Adventure

Enjoy a relaxing route that will highlight many historical locations in Virginia and take you on some beautiful two-lane highways! This route is 132 miles long and will take around three hours to complete (without stops). With so many cool things to discover along the way, you’ll want to allocate plenty of time stop and enjoy the sites.

From the Indian® Motorcycle of Southeastern Virginia dealership, you'll travel north on Highway 17 up to the Yorktown Battlefield. There you can take your time and explore some American history or just hop onto the Colonial Historical Parkway and take in the beautiful scenery. The Colonial Parkway is a 23-mile journey with no commercial traffic or stop lights—it's a beautiful way to get up to the idyllic riding outside of the urban areas of Newport News/Williamsburg.

When you reach the end of the parkway, you will jump over to Highway 5. This route can take you all the way into Richmond if you're feeling like a longer ride. Approximately 22 miles down Highway 5 on the righthand side of the road you'll see Indian Fields Tavern, a great spot to stretch and get a bite to eat.

Shortly before reaching Richmond, you'll find Hopewell Bridge. Take a left turn there to cross the James River and connect to Highway 10, which features some nice curves on this highway as well as some stretches to open the throttle of your Indian® Motorcycle a bit. Be sure to stop in Smithfield at the Ice Cream Parlor for a quick treat before you connect back onto Highway 17 and back across the James River Bridge then hang a left on Jefferson Ave. to get right back to the dealership.

Eastern Virginia is worthy of a multi-day vacation. This area is so rich in history and activities, it’s impossible to include everything in one list! Be sure to check out the historic triangle of Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Jamestown. In downtown Hampton, just a short drive from our location, you can explore the amazing Virginia Air & Space Science Center and Ft. Monroe. Also be sure to see The Mariner's Museum and Park where the turret from the USS Monitor is being preserved.

Love to try new restaurants? Local favorites include Thaijindesu, Jose Tequilas, Brickhouse Tavern, Viking Burger, and Scratch Bakery.

Rentals available in full-day and multi-day options.
