"Anniversary, Quiet! Relaxing! Crazy fun to be had if you want! Such a welcoming place. We needed to distress and just be, I believe we made the right choice. We stayed in the main lodge which has 7 suites. We stayed in the Stagecoach suite, it was so nice, we loved it. No TV; they do have wifi and a game room though with a huge TV, pool table and poker table. We purchased the meal plan and the food was wonderful! We do not own ATV's and boy do we wish we did so we could go on all the awesome trails. We rented some and had to stay on the main trail, fun yes- but boring in comparison to the other trails. I think my favorite was sitting outside on the large deck in the early morning. So peaceful! We will be back and have told everyone about this place!!"
"We will definitely be back! This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are very cozy and comfortable, feels like home! We added the dinner option to our reservation, and the food is sooooo good! The meals are served in a farmhouse style setting where you get to sit with, and interact, with other people that are staying at the resort. If you are a picky eater, you may want to call ahead, or base your reservation on what they are serving for that evening, since everybody eats the same meal. The common area in the lodges are incredible! There are pool tables, shuffleboard tables, big screen televisions and lots of comfy seating. We stayed at the Sunset Valley Lodge, where there is a huge deck that you can watch the sunset over the Missouri hills. We also brought our ATVs to ride the trails, which was a lot of fun! If I had any constructive criticism at all, it would be to more clearly mark the trails for riding. A map was provided, but it can be a bit difficult to figure out where you are once you’re out there. Every so often there was a sign that pointed the way back to the lodge, so that was very helpful to get your bearings. The lodge decor is beautiful, exactly how I would decorate if we had a cabin in the woods! Also, as an added bonus, there are kittens that roam around by the two main lodges! I am a cat person so I totally ate that up! They were not even skittish around people, very friendly! I love everything about this place and I will definitely be going back for more!"
"It doesn't get any better than Heartland Lodge! My boyfriend and I have stayed at Harpole's Heartland Lodge multiple times, as we love the rooms, property, staff etc. We heard about their ATV trails and we absolutely love them. Though we couldn't get a room this past weekend, we stayed close by in Pittsfield, IL but still spent all day Saturday off-roading. The trails were a muddfest and this was our first time were like that but Spring but we knew that ahead of time, because there's been plenty of rain recently. The neat thing is you meet so many people when you're there. This weekend we contacted that group and all met at the lodge so we could stick together. It was a perfect day!"
"Such a unique place! My first trip to Heartland was in 2014. Little did I know that we would end up coming back over a dozen times and even having our wedding here! I will give an honest review as you all want to see. If you are coming for the lodge (peaceful) atmosphere this is no doubt the place you want to be! All the lodge staff is great, you feel at home the minute you walk in the door thanks to Wanda! If you're looking to come hunt I can not say I have hunted here but I have had a tour from Zach Jumps which is one of the hunting guides and we did see several great bucks during the summer months! Now to the ATV park, if you missed out on the opening year or two then you missed out on a lot of fun! This is still a great place to ride but they did close most of my favorite trails due to safety issues. There is a mixture of all types of riding. There is mud, there is open flat areas, and there is a little rock climbing which is my personal favorite. Overall I highly recommend checking it out at least once and you may end up a regular like myself!"
"We Could Feel and "Taste" the LOVE Wow! Amazing! Incredible! We had the best time this weekend! My husband found this place online to take our 7 year old son UTVing. Looked super nice, but you never know ... Harpole's Heartland Lodge exceeded our expectations and then some!!! A wonderful place, run by wonderful people! The main lodge (where we stayed) is a beautiful structure that is decorated to the hilt with stunning chandlers in the dining hall, comfy, classy furniture in great room, pool table, poker table ... knick knacks and cute signs as far as the eye can see! Our room was the "Pheasant Valley" suite on the lower level! Perfect for the three of us, cozy king bed and day bed, both with a million pillows! All the linens smelled so fresh and good ... soft towels (not your regular hotel towels) and creative decor, even in the bathroom. Back door that opens to shared porch and huge field where we stargazed after the bonfire! THE ENTIRE PLACE IS SPOTLESS! No shoes allowed in lodge and no one seems to have a problem following that rule. Hard to disrespect Ms. Wanda's wishes, as clearly she is an Angel here on Earth! Which brings me to the meal service ... Can we join your family every night for dinner????? I don't think we've ever tasted Roast Beef so tender. Mashed potatoes, corn casserole, rolls, salad, and dessert ... all homemade, seasoned with love (you could just taste it!). Brunch was incredible both times and both brunches were completely different!! I honestly could just go on and on about the hospitality...especially how nice the staff was to our 7 year old, letting him ring the meal bell, he felt so important !! The tractor ride was so much fun. We saw wonderful views, elk, deer and the sunset. Came back to bonfire, smores, and popcorn .. hanging out with our new "friends", teasing that it was like being at sleep-away camp for adults!!! Thank you, Ms Wanda, for your prayers before meals, sweet disposition and for reminding us to be thankful for the beautiful nature that we sometimes take for granted! (The ATV trails were great as well!!! #safetyisnoaccident) On an added note, my husband described it as "the perfect package!!" See you all again real soon and thank you so much for creating such a wonderful place for a getaway!!! We were extremely impressed and will highly recommend to everyone we know!"
