OVERVIEW
Monroe Mountain is known for its beautiful lakes and reservoirs with lush green meadows that have herds of elk and deer. This loop is a perfect all-day ride for all levels of riders.
Leaving out of Rose Ranch Resort, you start on the #02 Trail, and once out of town limits, you can open it up a little and cruise across the flats. In no time at all, you're winding up the switchbacks that instantly have you in the pines and aspens.
The loop takes you right across the ridge of the mountain range passing by Manning Meadows Reservoir and Barney lake with others along the way. If you want to make it a day trip, throw a fishing line in and see if you can hook one or have a picnic while the kids practice their rock skipping skills.
At 9,000 plus feet altitude, it's the perfect temperature for anything. If you're in a 50" RZR, there are lots of trails that wind through the quakies and rocks that allow even more scenery. These side trails are gated at 50"; however, the main loop is compatible for all sizes of RZRs. As you come down and pass through the town of Monroe for a snack and top off with gas if needed, you will think, "that was an awesome ride, and the deer and elk herds were amazing," and if you didn't see them, you just weren't looking.
