Beginning at Indian® Motorcycle of Southeastern Virginia, you'll take Highway 17 to Yorktown Battlefield where you can step back in time at the American Revolution Museum. The visitor’s center is also worth a visit. Nearby, there are more than 15 miles of self-guided driving tours that you can take to tour the battlefield encampments.
Next, it’s time to ride along the Colonial National Historic Parkway, a 23-mile scenic route that connects the historic triangle of Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Jamestown, rich with museums and immersion experiences.
Consider spending the night in Richmond, a city with countless dining and lodging options. From downtown, you’ll head to the town of Afton, the starting point for Skyline Drive. This breathtaking road will take you along the ridge of the mountains and through Shenandoah National Park. Plan on frequent stops—the scenic overlooks aren’t to be missed.
Skyline Drive will take you all the way to Front Royal and then Culpeper, boasting numerous Civil War historical landmarks and battlefields. Cruise southeast on Highway 3 through the Wilderness Battlefield before reaching Fredericksburg, another great town to stop and look around at your leisure and enjoy a bite to eat. From here, take highway 17 all the way back to Newport News and the dealership to conclude your eastern Virginia odyssey.
