About This Adventure
Explore the desert like never before on the Southern Arizona Border Off-Road Adventure. Starting in the quaint ranching town of Arivaca (located 64 miles south of Tucson, Arizona), this half or full-day guided tour explores remarkably diverse high-desert terrain. No extreme riding here – just extremely gorgeous scenery. You’ll ascend impressive mountain peaks and drop back into valley floors as you venture through the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge on the edge of the San Luis Mountains.
The area’s rich history of early settlement and mining exploration left a remarkable imprint, including the preserved adobe ruins that are a must-see stop along the journey. There will be plenty of photo ops as you take in the sweeping views of lush desert valleys and breathtaking vistas near the top of Fraguita Peak and Coches Ridge. Be on the lookout for native wildlife sightings along the way! Upon your return to Arivaca, take some time to soak up the small-town atmosphere and consider visiting the local cantina for post-ride food and refreshments.
