Happy Trails Rental operates out of Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Park, located in the Southern California Mojave desert. The area is known as a mecca for off-road enthusiasts and outdoor adventure seekers. This 100,000-acre playground of open trails includes varied landscapes punctuated by vast valleys, sand dunes, large dry lake beds, sandy washes, and massive rocky buttes. Johnson Valley lies just north of the San Bernardino Mountains in the Mojave high desert region with an average elevation of more than 3,000 feet. Vegetation consists mostly of Joshua trees, creosote scrub, and wildflowers that bloom with a rainbow of color in the springtime. Johnson Valley OHV Park offers riding adventures for every skill level. ​The most famous spot is the Southeast area by Means Dry Lake, where once a year, the desert is transformed by over 30,000 plus spectators and racers for the world-famous ""King Of The Hammers"" race events. A week-long spectacular motorsports event that turns the desert into a small city known as Hammer Town. The popular Sand Hill is also located here and a great place to test your machine's raw power. Johnson Valley OHV Park is a short drive from Big Bear Lake and all of Big Bear activities like skiing, boating/kayaking, hiking, and great dining. Parts of the Pacific Crest trail are within 20 minutes of Johnson Valley OHV Park.
