For an absolutely perfect introduction to snowmobiling in Minnesota’s gorgeous North Shore region, book the four-hour, guided North Shore Timber Trail Snowmobile Tour with Timber Ghost Tours. After a safety lesson that introduces you to your latest-model Polaris snowmobiles loaded with comfort features, your experienced guide will take you on a tour of the area’s stunning, scenic trail system (tour itself takes three to three-and-a-half hours).

Beaver Bay sits along the North Shore State Snowmobile Trail, loved by winter enthusiasts for featuring numerous rest areas, overlooks, bridges, and incredible scenery including waterfalls and wilderness loops. You’ll stop frequently for photos and interesting insights on local terrain and wildlife from your guide. Your tour will conclude in the tiny lakeside town of Beaver Bay, where you can talk about the highlights of your tour with your family and friends. (Lunch is included in the price of the tour!)  

This tour begins at 10 am and ends at 2 pm, but please check in at 9 am to allow plenty of time for paperwork, gearing up, and getting familiar with your machine. This tour features both one-rider and two-rider Polaris snowmobiles.

Get Directions

All drivers of off-road vehicles are required to be 18+ years of age with a valid driver’s license. All passengers must be able to grasp a handhold with their hands, plant feet firmly on the ground, and have their back fully against the backrest. Helmets and eye protection are always required to be worn when the vehicle is being operated.

Arrive for your Adventure equipped with adequate winter clothing to ensure a comfortable ride.

Required safety gear, including helmets, is provided

Winter socks, snow boots, waterproof gloves, snow pants, winter coat/parks, winter hat, gaiter to wear under helmet

Feel free to bring a backpack with water, snacks, etc.
