About This Adventure

This ride will take you on an old deserted rail roadbed to the Ghost Town of Jerome. Located high on Mingus Mountain is this historic copper mining town. Once known as the wickedest town in the west, Jerome was a copper mining camp, growing from a settlement of tents to a roaring mining community. Founded in 1876, Jerome was once the fourth largest city in the Arizona Territory. The Depression of the 1930s slowed the mining operation, and the Mine closed in 1953. The few remaining souls promoted the town as a historic ghost town. Today Jerome is a thriving tourist town with many artistic shops and great food.
