The Mackay Mine Hill offers a self-guided tour of locations of Mackay's historic Mine Hill. Your adventure begins minutes away from our location just outside of Mackay.
Finding the hill is easy with our free map that includes color coded routes to help make the most out of your adventure. The Mine Hill includes miles of trails to explore.
The Anderson Cabin in Horseshoe dates to the early 1900's, and is typical of housing for miners and their families during this era. The White Knob Townsite ruins are the remains of what was once a bustling mining town of the early 1900's.
Shay Railroad Trestle is a faithful reconstruction of the original railway bridge that stood 25 feet tall and spans 105 feet. This was part of the early 1900's rail system that carried precious ores from Mackay's Mine Hill to Blackfoot for processing.
The main trail is suitable for use by any vehicle, but as you move further into the hill, trails will require high clearance. On some trails, 50" width or less is required. Trails are color coded in a free map that will be provided.
When you've finished your adventure, make sure to stop by The L7 or Perk's Bar in Mackay for good food and relaxation.
