Gold Butte National Monument: The Ultimate Off-Road Adventure
Just beyond Las Vegas lies one of the most rugged and unforgettable riding destinations in the Southwest—Gold Butte National Monument. This isn’t a crowded park or paved scenic loop—it’s raw desert, wide-open terrain, and miles of off-road freedom built for adventure.
From the moment you leave Overton, the pavement ends and the real ride begins. You’ll power through sandy washes, open up across fast desert flats, and wind through backcountry trails surrounded by towering red rock formations and landscapes that feel untouched by time.
Ride Through Iconic Desert Landscapes
Your route puts you face-to-face with some of the most unique terrain in Nevada:
Whitney Pocket – A dramatic entry point filled with massive sandstone formations, natural pockets, and incredible photo ops.
Devil’s Throat – A massive sinkhole in the middle of the desert and one of the area’s most unforgettable stops.
Little Finland – A surreal landscape of twisted, wind-carved rock formations that looks like another planet.
Falling Man Petroglyph Site – Ancient rock art etched into stone, offering a glimpse into thousands of years of desert history.
Built for Off-Road Exploration
A network of rugged dirt trails—including sections of the Gold Butte Backcountry Byway—makes this area ideal for Polaris side-by-sides. The terrain delivers a perfect mix of speed and challenge, keeping every mile exciting.
Expect:
Long stretches of open desert riding
Rocky sections and rolling terrain
Scenic stops for photos and exploration
Wide-open space with minimal traffic
A True Escape From the Crowds
Gold Butte offers something rare—complete freedom. No traffic, no lines, no distractions. Just you, your machine, and the desert.
You’ll experience:
Vast Mojave Desert landscapes
Endless photo opportunities
Quiet, crowd-free exploration
What to Expect
This is a true backcountry adventure with no services inside the monument. Come prepared—and ready for an experience that feels more like an expedition than a tour.
With the right machine, Gold Butte isn’t just a ride—it’s the kind of adventure you’ll be talking about long after the dust settles.
