Off-Road

Riding an ATV or Side by Side on unpaved roads or trails, including sand, gravel, dirt, grass, mud, rocks, and other natural terrain.

Outfitters provide a suggested route, trail map, and list of sites/attractions to riders who want to adventure on their own.

About This Adventure

Let loose in Wyoming’s beautiful and majestic Bighorn Mountains with Elk View Inn on a Polaris RZR, General, or Ranger Crew. Choose your Off-Road rental vehicle and head out into the rugged and scenic Bighorn National Forest on the designated trails located at 8,300 feet in elevation and appropriate for all riding skill levels.

While riding through the mountain pines and flower-filled meadows, you are likely to see elk, moose, mule deer, coyotes, open-range cattle, and other wildlife. Off in the distance, you will be exposed to unparalleled views of Cloud Peak, the highest peak in the Bighorn Mountains, rising to 13,171 feet in elevation.

For the more experienced off-roaders looking for a challenging ride, Elk View Inn has the perfect adventure. This challenging route is for intermediate to advanced riders who are ready to climb steep hills and travel across rocky terrain on a 50-inch wide trail.

While putting your skills to the test on the designated mountainous Wyoming path, you will come across Spanish Point, where legend has it that Spaniards hid from Native Americans in Spanish Cave. Stepping out of your vehicle, you will take a short walk to the hidden Spanish cave. Be sure to bring a flashlight to explore the caves and take an Instagram-worthy photo before heading back out on the trails!
