Known as America’s favorite drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway is described by the National Park Service as a “slow-paced and relaxing drive revealing stunning long-range vistas and close-up views of the rugged mountains and pastoral landscapes of the Appalachian Highlands.” The Parkway meanders for 469 miles. Depending on your travel plans, you can rent a Polaris Slingshot from Appalachian Adventure Rentals for a day to explore a small part of it or for multiple days to drive the entire stretch. The closest access point is in Cherokee near the Oconaluftee visitors center.
Exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway in an open-air, three-wheeled Polaris Slingshot will take this drive, already an American classic, to an entirely new level. You’ll experience the roads gentle twists and turns in a whole new way as you choose your own pace and determine your own pit stops, making this Adventure one you’re sure to remember for years to come.
Of course, the Blue Ridge Parkway is just one of many fun Slingshot drives and destinations accessible from Appalachian Adventure Rentals. Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon are two other popular destinations or set your own itinerary and go wherever the road takes you. The team at Appalachian Adventure Rentals is happy to craft an itinerary that’s perfect for your rental period, factoring in what you hope to experience on your ride.
Slingshot rentals are available April thru November. Slingshots are available in manual and automatic transmissions. Rental periods start at two hours and go up to 24-hour multi-day periods.
