Riding a snowmobile on groomed snowmobile trails or off trail on snowy or icy terrain.
Outfitters provide a suggested route, trail map, and list of sites/attractions to riders who want to adventure on their own.
The Hunt Mountain play area, located in Bighorn National Forest, is a vast expanse of steep & deep, cornices, timber, rock ledges, and creek beds. Ride right from Elk View Inn's parking lot.
There are NO groomed trails through this snowmobiler's paradise, but there is a forest road (Hunt Mtn. Road, FSR 10) visible in the summer. There are numerous draws to access this play area.
This adventure is for intermediate to experienced riders only. Weather can change quickly, so we highly recommend bluebird days when venturing out into this area. This area is an absolute winter wonderland for snowmobilers.
