After last year’s devastating Wyoming Mullen Fire that burned more than 175,000 acres, Polaris Adventures Certified Outfitter, Albany Lodge, located at 1148 WY-11, Laramie, Wyo., has partnered with the National Forest Service to host the first-ever Adventure Run, which happened Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021. The goal of the event was to raise money for fire rehab efforts in the area, including trail rebuilding, tree clearing, planting, and more.
A 50-mile course in total, this off-roading event drew visitors from Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Minnesota, and Wyoming. Some individuals brought their own vehicles to take on the trail, while others rented one from the Albany Lodge, which offers premium Polaris vehicles, including RZRs Generals and more. With more than 100 vehicles on-site and 238 attendees, riders navigated various checkpoints on the trail, and champion participants took home prizes from Albany Lodge, and Saratoga Springs, as well as gloves, helmets, and Polaris Adventures swag.
“The Adventure Run was an incredible event for Polaris Adventures to be a part of – not only was it a fun day to connect with the community and bond through riding, but our team was also honored to have an impact on fire rehab efforts in the area as well,” Gray Rentz, Polaris Adventures director, said. “Many of the employees at Albany Lodge were directly involved in firefighting efforts during the Mullen Fire, which is an inspiring example of one of our program Outfitters showing incredible support for their community in a time of need.”
Teaming up with the Southeast Wyoming Off-Highway Vehicle Alliance (SEWOHVA), Albany County Tourism Board, local law enforcement, and members of the University of Wyoming, the Adventure Run included vendor booths, swag, food, beverages, and fun for the whole family.
